Reliable preventive maintenance solutions for gas leak detection much better than traditional "sniffers"
From natural gas extraction to petrochemical operations and power generation, companies benefit greatly by relying on FLIR optical gas imaging (OGI) technology for inspection and maintenance. Leaks and fugitive emissions can occur as a result of aging assets, corrosion, mechanical failure and other factors. Proactively spot these leaks quickly and from a safe distance with these powerful solutions utilizing OGI.
The FLIR GF320 (and other OGI cameras) is an infrared camera equipped with special filters that allow them to "see" methane and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Like all FLIR GF-series cameras, the GF320 has three imaging modes: 1) infrared (IR) image, 2) visual image, and 3) high sensitivity mode (HSM).
Handheld OGI cameras are ideal for:
- Natural gas well sites
- Electrical substations
- Power generators
- Chemical processing plants
- Manufacturing plants
UAV Systems for Gas Leak Detection
Inspect quickly and easily from a safe distance with a drone equipped with an OGI camera. Visualize and pinpoint gas leaks without the need to shut down the operation. Monitor storage tank levels and scan pipelines, flare stacks and other assets in a fraction of the time it would take with traditional inspection methods.
Viper combines a trusted and familiar UAV system from DJI, the M600 Pro, with the highly sensitive leak detection capability of the the FLIR G300a OGI camera.
Continuous monitoring provides immediate notification of a gas leak. FLIR OGI cameras such as the G300a, G300PT and the A6604 can constantly monitor vital gas pipelines and installations in remote areas or zones with difficult accessibility.
Fixed OGI installation is ideal for:
- Offshore oil platforms
- Natural gas processing plants
- Biogas generation plants
- Petrochemical facilities
- High-value well sites
- Underground storage facilities
- Critical pipeline crossings
- Reduced fugitive emissions
- Quicker and more thorough inspection
- Reduced risk to plant personnel and equipment
- Reliable system provides early detection of problem areas
- Increased revenue with consistent production
- Improved compliance with environmental regulations
System Solution Components
FLIR cameras are integrated with ViperVision software which directly communicates with most industrial platform controllers. The software will analyze and compare the data against predefined parameters and will trigger an alarm if warranted. These parameters can be adjusted based on the specific application needs.
Fixed thermal imaging cameras are mounted in industrial camera enclosures that use the appropriate purge and pressurization to protect the camera equipment. Viper Imaging provides solutions for Class I, Division I and Division II environments.
